Laharl Demon Overlord Gender: Male Age: 1413 years (~14 in human years) Height: 137cm (4'5") (allegedly grew 2 cm in 100 years) Weight: 38kg (84lbs) Likes: Himself Dislikes: Love, kindness, and sexy bodies Continuity-wise, Laharl is from after a lot of things. He's post the third light novel Returned, which is set 100 years into Laharl's rule. But his canon is the first game, not the first novel. His ending is the Good Ending, wherein Flonne becomes a flower, Laharl spares Lamington, and +1 Fallen Angel. He's after 1 and 2, excluding DD2. (I haven't played it yet, sorry!) All cameos and drama CDs included with every purchase. I am just...counting Cursed Memories as a lapse in Laharl's judgement after Etna and he had been fighting for a while, because that incredible reversal of all character development that was the D2 cameo was horrid. I can't even, I have such rage, even years after. I don't care. Laharl changed enough to not blow up the whole damn world, including his two only friends (whom he admittedly thought he had lost), just because he lost a fight. Fuck you, NIS. Even if he hasn't lived the game, Laharl knows who everyone else is in the franchise because he's fuckin' meta like that. I barely remember D3, I only just started D4 and I sure as hell have still not played Disgaea Infinite or DD2. And sadly, Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero?! is still sitting on my shelf, waiting for me to get a PSP. So while Laharl knows of these characters, he doesn't have any in-game experience. He is level 1 in their knowledge.

Okay but what the hell is a Laharl?
Oh right, his game is ancient, right. Laharl looks to be 13 or 14, but really he's one hundred times that from a human's perspective. He's an extremely powerful demon who can summon meteors to crash into the planet. This is beyond Yu Yu Hakusho levels of ridick. He's at least level 600, if not in the 7 or 800s. I certainly didn't reincarnate and grind him that much, fuck that shit.

PSYCHICS, HARK. Laharl's got a lot of past trauma. His mother sacrificed herself when he was a wee lad, all to save him from a deadly sickness. Immediately afterward, his father put him in the care of his uncle and aunt. His aunt abused him for 100 years. She assaulted him mentally and physically. She used a whip. Shit is serious. But somehow, the series finds a way to make it hilarious...as well as horrific. He doesn't think about either of these things much. If you bring up love, though, he's likely thinking of his mother. He's warming up to love, because really, he's a big softie under the big talk of ruthlessness. But he once blamed his mother's death on love, and so he hated it.

BIG BUXOM WOMEN, HARK. He is terrified of you. Big-breasted women are one of his "allergies." He gets weak in the knees, groans, and steadily loses HP. It's actually a status effect, I kid you not.

ANYONE NOT EMOTIONALLY CONSTIPATED, HARK. His other allergy is optimistic, happy language. Words like "love," "courage," "hope," and "fidelity" strike a blow to his health. The more optimistic and joyful, the bigger the blow. It's hilarious, I implore you to play with it. Every character in Disgaea is a comedy character it's wonderful. (Though when Flonne does it, "it's different." Ha. But he hams it up for appearance's sake anyway.)

FOURTH-WALLERS, HELLO. Disgaea is an extremely meta franchise. There are a lot of winks and nudges at the audience, and Laharl is no exception. He makes a lot of fourth wall jokes, sometimes talking about their manga, action figures, game mechanics like titles and stats, or even "possible sequels." I play him to the medium he's in, and so he might make subtle jokes about online RP. If this is not your thing, let me know. I will tone it down. But know that Laharl is not IC if he's not at least a little self-aware.
